First blog response question!

Good afternoon! I hope that you had a great day at school.  Tonight, I asked you to visit my blog and post a comment as part of your homework.

During school today, you answered a survey about how you feel as a reader. Tonight's question is also about reading.  In your comment, I would like you to suggest the name of a book that you would like to recommend to other 4th grade students.  Please list the title (and author if possible) of a book that you have already read that you think other kids your age would also enjoy.

An example of a great comment would be:

"I would like to suggest the book Loser by Jerry Spinelli.  It is about a boy named Donald Zinkoff, and all of the interesting things that happen to him while he is growing up.  This is a really funny book!"

I can't wait to read all of your suggestions!  See you tomorrow.

Hard at work!!

Although it is only the fourth day of fourth grade, our class is already hard at work!  We are currently in the middle of several projects.  We hope to have them completed by Open House next Wednesday, September 5th.

Here are a few quick reminders:
1. Open House is next Wednesday evening, September 5th, at 6:30 pm.  We have a lot of information to share with you--including the new 4th grade homework policy.

2. Please remember to send your child's recorder back to school.

3. If your child is interested in joining Orchestra for the 2012-2013 school year, there will be two informational meetings held at Highland Park High School.  Both of those meetings are at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 5.  The students will get a chance to try out the different instruments!  More information will be sent home tomorrow in the B.E.E. book.

4. Keep studying for Friday's spelling test!

5. Your Fab 5 artifacts for the "All About Me" project are also due on Friday.

Hope you had a great day and see you tomorrow!

Tomorrow will be the first FULL day of fourth grade!  We have a lot of special projects planned to get this year started right.  I hope that you are excited!

Thank you for visiting my blog.  This blog is brand new, and I'm still working on setting up all of the special features.  Keep checking back regularly and I promise more updates are coming soon.
